THAT INCORPORATE ART

By continually developing and pioneering exciting new ways to create, present and utilize his art, Les Mayers is expanding the role contemporary art plays in our society.  Incorporating art to help mitigate important social issues, such as homelessness, is one example

771,800 individuals across the United States, the most affluent country in the world, on a single night in January, 2024, were living without housing.

This is the highest number of homeless people since 2007 and represents an increase of more than 18% over 2023.

Together, we can help make a difference in someone's life
and help mitigate the current homelessness crisis.

Because everyone deserves to be housed, healthy, and safe.

OUTREACH PROGRAM

SIGNAGE FOR THE STUDIO_526 project

100% of the profits from sales at the Studio 526 Gallery are donated to the participating artists and to charatible organizations that are helping mitigate homelessness.

93% of the participants in The People Concern's housing program, NEVER EXPERIENCE HOMELESSNESS AGAIN !

Providing affordable housing is an important priority in helping our homeless neighbors, however, it's only part of the issue. Most homeless individuals experience one or more other debilitating issues, including drug addiction, medical or mental problems, financial issues, and other social issues that need to be addressed. Helping the homeless community re-enter our main-stream society and become responsible citizens requires multiple-level programs that are individually tailored to address each individual's specific issues and needs.

Combining innovative thinking, advanced computer technologies and made-to-order manufacturing protocols, has proven to be a successful new way that contemporary art can help our most vulnerable neighbors and benefit our society.

The People Concern's STUDIO 526 community arts and cultural support program is helping mitigate homelessness.  The program provides working studio spaces for people experiencing homelessness or living in poverty.  It helps creative individuals develop their artistic voices, become associated in a community with other artists, and helps make creativity a restorative part of their lives.  The program encourages long-term participation and also provides a safe haven for people with mental illness.
