Together, we can make a difference in someone's life and help mitigate the current homelessness crisis.

 Because everyone deserves to be
housed, healthy, and safe.

ILLUSTRATION OF THE HOMELESSNESS ISSUE IN LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA

Providing affordable housing is an important priority in helping our homeless neighbors, however, it's only part of the issue. Most homeless individuals experience one or more other debilitating issues, including drug addiction, medical or mental problems, financial issues, and other social issues that need to be addressed.

Helping the homeless community re-enter our main-stream society and become responsible citizens requires multiple-level programs that are individually tailored to address each individual's specific issues and needs.

STUDIO 526

The People Concern's STUDIO 526 community arts and cultural support program is helping mitigate homelessness.  The program provides working studio spaces for people experiencing homelessness or living in poverty.  It helps creative individuals develop their artistic voices, become associated in a community with other artists, and helps make creativity a restorative part of their lives.  The program encourages long-term participation and also provides a safe haven for people with mental illness.
